Do you love Kombucha?

Kombucha is extremely popular at the moment. It is a fermented drink made from tea and is said to improve gut health.

However, despite its benefits, it is important to be aware of of its risks for your teeth:

• The tannins in Kombucha can stain teeth

• It is highly acidic with a pH of 2.5 – 3.5 and can dissolve teeth resulting in sensitivity

• The acidic environment also promotes the growth of harmful bacteria

• Some brands contain sugar which contributes to tooth decay

So our recommendation is to enjoy it, but consume it consciously and in moderation.
